October 2024 update. We have met our first target and the clock mechanism is fixed!
We are now fundraising to clean and restore, as far as it possible, the fabric of the tower itself. At fifty feet it is made of steel, cast iron and bronze and finished with a dolphin weathervane.
The distinctive decoration and delicate design add to its rarity as one of the few remaining Victorian clock towers still in its original park setting.
We are working in partnership with the Brighton & Hove City Council, who after the repair – will continue to provide annual servicing and seasonal time changes to the clock.
