We’re delighted that an arboriculturalist (tree expert) will be the guest speaker at our AGM. Alister Peters will talk not only about the trees of Blakers Park but also give advice to everyone who has questions about the trees in their own gardens.
An excellent raconteur, Alister last year led a tour of the park’s trees and enlivened it with tales from his own experiences. His recent work includes inspecting trees in some of London’s poshest squares one week and at Chessington World of Adventures the next.
The Annual General Meeting will also be a chance for all members to elect the committee for the next 12 months. There will be a new chair and vice chair as the latter has already stood down and the former is moving on.
Everyone who would like to put themselves forward for these posts or is interested in joining the Committee should drop us a line by 4th October at the latest.
The Annual General Meeting, with added tree-knowledge, will be held at Stanford Avenue Methodist Church, starting at 7.30 pm. You can download an advance copy of our Constitution and download a copy of the poster to print and display. It has been designed by our generous graphic genius Simon Bottrell of 7Creative.
